Meet Our Therapist, Carrie Parr, LCSW
I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker by trade and education, so my approach to serving others starts with the understanding that each of us is shaped by our experiences. Each of us have uniquely personal experiences and every element of our lives influences the others. I offer my clients a safe space to become familiar with themselves. I teach my clients to look at their situation from alternative perspectives and I use research-based methods that can influence their decisions and grant them access to a healthy, productive, and satisfying life.

Providing Individual Therapy for Adults
I use several research-based therapeutic methods to help my clients gain the most out of the therapeutic process and guide them to achieve individualized goals. I understand that everyone has a different definition of success in relation to their own life. I have seen great success with Cognitive Behavior Therapy. This approach includes the introduction of self-care skills and identifying patterns of thinking that are counterproductive and then finding ways to change them. I have a deep understanding of the damage that trauma can do to the individual psyche. I remain current with the newest practices in the area of trauma informed care and provide a safe space to explore feelings. I am trained in the method of Motivational Interviewing, a therapeutic approach that can aid people in resolving ambivalent feelings or insecurities, by helping them find their personal motivation to commit to change. It is a practical, empathetic, and versatile process that addresses how difficult it is to make life changes. My goal as a therapist is to guide my clients through their own thoughts and feelings towards a pattern of thinking and behavior that leads to an increase in personal satisfaction and happiness.
